“English Cameo Glass”

 by

David Whitehouse (1941-2013)

David Bryn Whitehouse, FSA, FRGS was a British archaeologist and senior scholar of the Corning Museum of Glass. In 1984, he joined the Corning Museum of Glass as chief curator and became deputy director of collections three years later subsequently being appointed deputy director of the museum. The Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York is dedicated to the art, history and science of glass. It was founded in 1951 by Corning Glass Works and currently has a collection of more than 45,000 glass objects, some over 3,500 years old.

Charles Hajdamach tells us that this is the definitive text, superbly written by David in 1994 and we have been extremely lucky to acquire it. For those interested in Cameo Glass this is a “must have” so make sure you buy your raffle ticket.
