Throughout the Covid restrictions, your committee has been working hard to provide online lectures and recruit and retain members. Membership numbers and finances remain healthy and we look forward to moving forward as a vibrant Society.  However, most committee members have already served their permitted three or, in exceptional circumstances, four-year term.  We urgently need to recruit new members, initially to assist with the monthly planning meetings and, in the future to take on posts of responsibility.  At our recent meeting, our technical advisor has agreed to assist our programme planner in devising the programme for 2023 – 2024.  In the absence of a chairman, our secretary has agreed to stay for a fifth year and take on the role of chair/secretary, fielding and delegating the responsibilities of the chairman.  This doubling up of responsibilities is far from ideal and is not sustainable.  Please think about joining our friendly team to share the load and to safeguard the future of your Society.
